This morning Butler Class had their assembly and as part of it performed a Mothering Sunday Song. Afterwards they met in the Butler Classroom studio and committed their singing to tape!

Cross Country
22 February 2008 | News, Pupil | No Responses
On the 19th of February 2008, pupils from Courtauld and Holst Class went to a Cross Country event at Hedingham School.
There were 8 separate races, Year 3 boys and girls, Year 4 boys and girls, Year 5 boys and girls and Year 6 boys and girls. As a school, we entered in 4 of the 8 races, Year 5 boys, Year 5 girls, Year 6 boys and Year 6 girls.
In the Year 5 boys race we entered 3 children, Charlie came 12th, Liam came 13th and Daniel came 14th. In the Year 5 girls race we only had 1 girl represent us, Zoe who came in at 9th place. In the Year 6 boys race ran 3 boys, Vince who came 5th, Cam who came 16th and Josh who came in at 17th. In the Year 6 race, we had 5 girls, Esther who came 2nd, Ami who came 9th, Jayd who came 13th, Georgia who came 16th and Amber who came in at 17th.
We think we did pretty well as we had trained nearly every lunch and break time and many members of the team also did after school training club. We’d like to thank Mrs Grant, Mrs Fenner and Mrs Hammond for transporting us to the event and Mrs Wooderson and Mr Handy for coaching us.

Activemark 2007
22 February 2008 | News | No Responses
As mentioned in a previous newsletter St. Andrew’s has been presented with the Activemark 2007 in recognition of the school’s efforts to promote school sports and activity.
To receive the award a school must ensure that “at least 90% of pupils across the school are doing at least 2 hours high quality PE and school sport each week”.
This is something we have been doing consistently over a period of several years, but it is always good to be recognised!
The next step for us is to promote partnerships with sports clubs in the local area, and letters asking for information about current links will be sent home later in the year.

This week is Food Week (Don’t miss the assembly on Friday afternoon!) and on Tuesday there was an impromptu pancake making demonstration in worship assembly. Here it is (with an odd first 15 seconds – it’s fine after that) complete with flipping. Jamie Oliver has little to worry about…
