GRAND OPENING OF THE 5 CONTINENTS TO THE COMMUNITY

On Wednesday 26th May 2010 we will be having a ‘GRAND OPENING’ of the 5 continents (Australasia, Asia, Africa, Europe, Africa & the Americas) and sharing with parents and the community the project we have been enjoying with the Royal Opera House Creative Partnerships (ROHCP).  Please book this date in your diary *NOW* so that you can join us.  The children will be leading the afternoon – 1.00pm onwards, with dance, music, swimming, cooking etc – all outside, weather permitting.

Japanese Visitors

It was interesting to receive a visit today from Mr. Roper, Tomotushi Sato (Tumo San) and Naoki Tajima (Taji San). They worked with De Vere and Constable Classes looking at the language and customs of Japan.  We would like to thank them for the time spent with us, which was very much enjoyed by the children and staff.

TOY FAYRE

Thank you everybody for sending in toys and allowing the children to buy. The money raised (£169.38) will go to the P.T.A.

Rural Communities Project Ltd

Confidence Building for Well-being!   If you would like to be part of the course organised by ‘Rural Communities Project’ please let the school office know of your interest. 

TOY SALE – CHANGE OF DATE

We will be having a ‘Toy Sale’ on Friday 22nd January to raise funds for the PTA.  Children should need no more than £5 for their purchases on the day, preferably in small change.  Thank you!

‘Choc & Pops’ – monthly reward for ‘Good Behaviour’ at breaktimes.

The very long standing tradition of ‘choc & pops’, was reviewed by the school council, at the end of  last term with a view to discontinuing this good behaviour reward.  A decision was made for class councils to consult over the next few weeks on a new scheme for rewarding  monthly, ‘good behaviour’ at breaktimes.  We will keep you informed of the discussions and decisions made by class and school councils and the chosen alternatives.

Music Tuition for Violin, Piano and Guitar

There are a few music places available for individual tuition with Mr Hayes, who teaches violin, piano and guitar.  If you would like your child to learn a musical instruments, at school, please enquire at the school office for further information or to secure a place.  The cost of tuition fees are available at the school office.

Clubs After School

After School Clubs to begin week beginning 11thJanuary, weather permitting.  Club membership to remain the same as the Autumn term.  The tag-rug club will become the ‘Hockey Quick Sticks’club and members will be selected by Mr Quayle.  Where clubs have reduced in numbers those children from the Autumn term waiting list will be next in line for a place.  Your child will be informed by the member of staff  organising the club.  If your child does not want to continue in their current club or they would like to be put on the waiting list for another club, then please let the school know asap.  Thank you!

Football club will continue on Thursdays.

There are a few vacant places in the ‘Young Yeldham Explorers’, suitable for Reception & Years 1&2 pupils, on Thursdays.
